Sao Paulo, the city given the honor of hosting the opening game of the World Cup 2014, in Brazil. The official stadium is the Estadio do Morumbi, home to the Sao Paulo Football Club with a capacity of 140,000. The stadium was opened in 1960, and only finished in late 1970, with the name originating from the manager at the time. The stadium has been used to stage many local and international music events, with stars including U2, Michael Jackson, Queen and the legendary rolling stones, amongst some of the biggest names. The stadium is unique in the way that the football team owns the stadium and not the government, because in Brazil, it is the state which usually owns the stadiums.

Sao Paulo is the largest city in Brazil, combining the hustling and bustling of the new parts of the city with the antiquated parts, steeped in culture and history. The city is investing millions of dollars in revamping these bus and train routes, making them more modern and easily accessible.
