Cheap, affordable car hire at one of Spain's busiest airports. From general family runarounds to off roaders and limousines, whichever car suits your needs, you are no more than a click away from the perfect vehicle for your vacation. Plan ahead and book in advance so as not to be disappointed, during the summer, certain specialist cars will be booked out for weeks at a time. Rental vehicles with 8 seats are very popular for parents with children and can help turn a stressful holiday into a luxury holiday, with air-con to help cool tempers in the heat. If your hire car of choice is for exploring, most companies, for an extra charge, will supply an up to date sat nav, which will help you plot any course on Spain's rapidly expanding road network. If you have any special needs such as bike racks, wheelchair access or even a camper van hire, always ask the car hire company, if they do not carry what you require, then they usually will know of another company who does. Anyone of these car hire companies will help as much as possible, after all, they want your business, so if you are not happy with one, look at another, there are hundreds of them, and they all want your money.

Some driving laws in Spain

Like any country, Spain has its own laws about driving, when hiring out a car, in the boot there should be two warning triangles, one luminous jacket for each passenger and a set of spare bulbs, if not, please ask for the hire company to supply them. Do not drink and drive, there are lots of taxis services available, it is not worth the risk, there may not be many speed or road cameras in Spain yet, but there are lots of police check points, and you do not want to spend a night in jail and be banned from driving, which also applies in the UK and the rest of Europe, if you are banned here, you are banned in the UK. A stop sign means STOP, not just slow down, depending on where you are, an on the spot fine can be issued of between 30 and 90 euros, if you cannot pay, they may escort you to a cash point to get the money. If you are caught speeding, you will receive penalty points and a fine, if you cannot pay, they may impound the rental car, which will then cost alot more money to get back, and this is not covered on the insurance policy you get with the hire car, the costs can be taken from your credit card along with any damages that may have been caused during transit.

Police Warning

Please note, if at a police check point you are waved to a halt, please stop, remember, they have guns, and they are also on the lookout for terrorists, so be careful. Driving in Spain is a memorable experience, make it memorable for the right reasons.
