It's a sad world we live in when you cannot even walk from your front door to the local shop without the fear of being attacked or assaulted, and that's in the day time. The rise in the unprovoked attacks that occur in every city in the world is on a daily increase. Muggings, violent assaults, rapes, and even intimidation statistics have risen to epidemic proportions. Attacks on single girls and women, in the middle of the day, have also risen, leaving a society in shock and disbelief. And scared.

This society of ours, has created a dark side of human nature, in all aspects of our community, why else do we have locks? There are all the different Martial Arts classes, teaching you how to protect yourself from attackers. I have a six year old girl, I am now looking for a karate school near us for her to attend, I want her to have a nice life.

Go to a gym, you can get yourself fit by training to run, lifting weights, do a lot of Cardular Vascular work, get that heart pumping. It may help you to run away from a possible attacker if need be.

Attend classes, such as yoga and aerobic, it may sound like a bit of a waste of time, but is it?

Mental health is also very important, you need to keep a level head if you are approached by would be attackers. Your mind may need to react quickly, practise some of this whilst just simply walking down the street, think, "If I was attacked now, what would I do?" Where would I run? Where is the best, closest place to summon help? It may help you in the future.

There are many hundreds of different self defence tools on the internet now. Some are illegal in certain countries, but you can buy them over the counter in other countries, strange. Some maybe slightly bulky to carry around with you, and some people may feel that nothing will happen to them, so they do not need protection. Rethink this, because it has become a dangerous world out there, most of these items can be carried around in the pocket or on a chain around the neck, if you decide to get one of these defence devices, learn how to use it, and don't be scared to use it.
